Pine wood is used more frequently to make beautiful pine furniture. The wood is inexpensive and easy to work and shape as compare to other wood types. Pine is relatively soft and looks very attractive and durable if taken care of properly. The most popular type of sealer is varnish that protects the furniture. If pine is unsealed then pine can seep a gummy pitch that is both sticky and unattractive.

  1. Clean the furniture with a tack cloth because pine is very easy to scratch, dent or damage.
  2. Using both the power sander and hand sanding and start with 180-grit and work up to 220-grit.
  3. Apply the controller evenly and allow 6 to 8 hours drying time. Stain controller will control the absorption rate of the stain so apply it with a rag, not a brush.
  4. Reapply small amounts of stain controller and if the grain has lifted then lightly sand the furniture.
  5. Satin finish varnish always used for varnish the furniture. Apply 1 to 3 coats.
  6. Allow the varnish to dry completely based on the manufacturer's recommendations.
